BIOTOM is a consortium of microorganisms that, in a coordinated way, rapidly decomposes organic matter and prevents undesired processes like putrefaction, drastically decreasing composting time, bad odors and the presence of flies. It works in a chain reaction when a group of microbes brake complex organic molecules in which they specialize, leaving less complex chains that are then broken by the next group of microorganisms, and so on. This occurs for several cycles until the organic matter has been broken to simple molecules which are more stable. Is used in any process in which organic matter transformation is required, like compost production plants, livestock farms, sespits and residual water treatment plants.
